4th Grade Orchestra
4th grade string students at CCS perform in our 4th Grade Orchestra. Each student is placed in a small lesson group and receives one in-school lesson every cycle. In these lessons, students work on continuing to work on the skills they learned in third grade, while playing more challenging music and learning new notes and and more advanced techniques.
All of the students in 4th Grade Orchestra meet twice a week before or after school to rehearse together. The 150 Building orchestra meets after school on Mondays. The 486 Building orchestra meets before school on Mondays and Wednesdays. During these rehearsals, students practice playing together as an ensemble with increasingly challenging pieces that feature all of the sections of the orchestra. They perform in two concerts during the school year.
